Graphic Design Professional and Instructional Developer (October 2005--Present)

Mr. Yu is responsible for designing and developing logos for documents and conferences, graphic elements for web pages, brochures and handouts, publication cover pages, and creating 508 compliant PDF documents. He is adept at using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Acrobat Professional, Captivate, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Visio. He is also responsible for designing and developing SCORM compliant web-based training, prototype websites for demonstration, online registration forms, internal online training, and converting table-based web pages to CSS.

Significant Accomplishments:

  • Developed six SCORM Compliant Web-based Training courses for the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) using Dreamweaver, Course Builder, JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). These courses were critical to educating physicians, suppliers and billers on various aspects of CMS billing and policy.
  • Designed and developed a JavaScript and CSS prototype for EPA’s Analytical Service Request (ASR) website. This website is now used routinely to schedule chemical analyses as a part of EPA’s Contract Laboratory Program (CLP).
  • Designed, developed, and automated EPA’s Superfund Analytical Operation Training Conference Registration Form using ColdFusion
  • Designed and developed internal Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) Online Training using JavaScript and CSS. This training is provided to all CSC employees working on the Sample Management Office (SMO) contract and ensures that operations will be able to continue in the event of an emergency.
  • Developed EPA’s Web Electronic Data Review (WebEDR) web-based training using Captivate and a voice recording device. This training assisted users in understanding a new application that automates a chemical sample analysis process.

Mr. Yu was responsible for designing and developing document cover pages, creating logos and designs, and developing interactive web-based training for the safety department.

Significant Accomplishments:

  • Working closely with Subject Matter Experts, designed and developed two interactive web-based training courses for the safety department using Macromedia Flash and Trainersoft. Both training courses became mandatory training for every employee.
  • Designed and developed website and logos for the training department. Created Flash animations, banners, and backgrounds. This improved the accessibility and functionality of the website that is used by all personnel needing information on the Merck factory site.
